מטרות העמותה

1. קידום הידע וההשכלה בישראל באמצעות איסופם, יצירתם והפצתם של תכנים חופשיים.
2. שיפור שוויון ההזדמנויות בגישה לידע חופשי והנגשתו של הידע לכלל החברה בישראל.
3. קידומן של מערכות מחשב ואינטרנט המשמשות לאיסוף והפצה של תכנים חופשיים בעבודה שיתופית, ובפרט אלה המשמשות במיזמים של קרן ויקימדיה.
4. קידום הבירור והמחקר של שאלות חברתיות, תרבותיות, ויישומיות הנוגעות לתכנים חופשיים.
5. קידום וייזום של פעולות התנדבותיות למען המטרות המנויות לעיל.

רציונל תכנוני

התמקדות בפרוייקטים שיחס הרווח/עלות שלהם הוכח כגבוה במקומות אחרים והעצמת פרוייקטים שהוכחו כמוצלחים אצלנו:

1. GLAM
2. שיתופי פעולה עם האקדמיה (כולל לא מוגבל להפעלת תוכנית השגרירים)
3. שחרור תכנים קיימים
4. יצירת תכנים חופשיים
5. חיזוק הקשר עם קהילת העורכים, התנועה ובניית תשתית לעמותה

Chapter's Objectives

1. Promotion of knowledge and education through the collection, creation and distribution of free content.
2. Improving the equal opportunity in access to free knowledge and providing accessibility of such knowledge to the Israeli society.
3. Promotion of computer systems which are used for collection and distribution of free content in collaborative work, in particular those which are used in the Wikimedia projects.
4. Promotion of research of social, cultural and applicable questions with regards to free content.
5. Promotion and initiation of volunteering work for the aforementioned objectives.

Planning Rational

The chapter will focus on projects in which the cost\effectiveness ratio was proven to be high for other chapters and on the enhancement of successful projects:

1. GLAM
2. Cooperations with the Academia (Including but is not limited to the activation of the ambassadors program)
3. Releasing of existing content
4. Creation of new content
5. Strengthening the connections between the chapter and the Hebrew editors community, the chapter and other chapters and building a solid infrastructure for the chapter.
